How to Improve Your Google Ad Words Campaign

Posted on May 16, 2013 by in Internet Marketing

Marketing does not have to be expensive, it can be cost-effective and efficient in the amount of revenue it brings for you and your business. Through Google Ad Words, the phrase “you get what you pay for” doesn’t really apply. This is because Google Ad Words chooses to provide you with tons of exposure for minimal cost, but you have to stay on top of your game when initiating an ad campaign.

Things to take into consideration are choosing the right keywords, linking to the pages in which the product or service being spoken about is present, running multiple ads and keeping track of the ads that are doing well and advertising specific benefits in your ads. Those are just some of the things to consider. Other things you may want to consider are:

  • Recording the return on investment (ROI) of each ad you have running can help you keep track of your expenses in your pre-determined budget. Keeping track of your ROI can help you get rid of or change the ads that have a low ROI. This helps you in the ad planning process and increases your cost-effectiveness.
  • Use some provoking words such as: Free, special, limited time offer, tricks and tips. These are the words that entice the internet surfer to click on your ad. However, you want to make sure that you really do have something free, special, available for a limited time and that you do have tricks and tips. If you do not, then Google will remove your ad.
  • Price quotes are another great way to improve your ad campaign. Let us say you are featuring a specific product or service on your site and you want to include it in your ad. It is possible to do so, especially if that price quote is so low it will get the attention of Internet surfers.
  • Avoid using keywords that mean the same thing. Also choose the keywords and phrases carefully .If they do not correspond with what you are trying to sell, this can result in a potential customer misinterpreting the word or phrase and your site not being what they are looking for. This can result in your ad being removed by Google for having irrelevant keywords.

Although you want to increase your traffic, you want Ad Words to increase your return on investment. It is more cost-effective for you to have ten legitimate visitors to your site every month rather than a thousand visitors who simply passed on through without becoming a customer. You want to keep things such things in mind when running your campaign so you are not just paying for hits, but paying for a return on your advertising. At the end of the day, choosing the right keywords and following the steps above will enable you to run a successful Ad Words campaign in which you will notice an increase in revenue as well as satisfied customers.
